ABOUT ME

KAREN HAYLEY BA (Hons) C.Hyp SICH.D.Hyp. SICH.CNLP Practitioner

I am a fully accredited, qualified hypnotherapist, and member of the GHSH. I am committed to keeping up-to-date with cutting-edge research and developments in my area and using only the best, evidence based techniques. I have a keen interest in all areas of health and collaborate with other healthcare practitioners (nutritionists, osteopaths, personal trainers) on regular basis, I have special skills & experience in the areas of voice, confidence & performance, and a particular interest in anxiety and mind/body illnesses.

During the Covid pandemic, last spring & summer 2020, I volunteered for Frontline19 (supporting doctors, nurses and frontline staff).

I practice cognitive hypnotherapy, drawing on techniques from CBT, the work of Carl Jung, the best of positive psychology, behavioural therapy and contemporary research in neuroscience. Hypnotherapy and nutrition helped me with my own health struggles in my late thirties. I have a creative background. Before training as a therapist, I worked extensively as a comedy writer/performer and voice over. I created comedy for stress management programmes for Surrey County Council and Mind UK, and the 'Comedy in NLP' series of workshops with a fellow hypnotherapist.

CLIENT TESTIMONIALS

The best decision I made for my health and wellbeing

I have struggled with serious mental health problems since the age of 12 and now I am 30 years old. Since then, I had a number of diagnoses thrown at me by doctors: depression, anxiety, borderline personality disorder, bipolar disorder. This has never helped me and Karen has helped me look past these labels and not be defined by them anymore. My decision to come off all my meds made me realise that I would have to start working through my problems with someone who I could trust. Having had a number of therapists in the past, I was hesitant about trying another because therapists based on my previous experiences find it hard to put their own beliefs and opinions to the side - in the worst cases, they try to impose their own way of thinking on you (unwillingly at times but they do). Karen though works in a way which enables you to find YOUR way to YOUR journey or back to YOUR journey as you may have gotten lost at some point. Karen supports me in a way that I don't feel smothered and yet very much supported. Choosing her was the best decision I ever made for my health. She's one of a kind. Every time I have a session, I feel better instantly - unburdened and clear headed. What surprised me was that Karen was happy to tailor the way she worked to my needs. She doesn't have a fixed way like some others. She sincerely wants to help and will adapt to what is most helpful to you. She is extremely non-judgemental and I would recommend her fearlessly and confidently to anybody who needs help. Therapy is a process and knowing that I have someone who is there to listen to me no matter what happens has helped me feel safer in myself. It's something I can hold on to forever.
